The 2011-2012 season of weekly meetings started on Monday 19th September 2011 in Augustine United Church, 41-43 George IV Bridge, Edinburgh EH1 1EL. Please bring your instruments and a music stand.
Meetings continue from September to June on Monday evenings, 7.30 p.m. to 9.30 p.m. in Augustine United Church and also occasionally for a special event on Saturday afternoon, including a "Playing Day" with a visiting conductor from the national Society. The season continues until June 2012. See the Calendar. Visitors from other branches are welcome, and prospective new members can try us out for a few meetings before committing themselves to join.
Regular conductors are Allan Jones, Andrew Short, Peter Wraith also Michael Graham and Annemarie Klein.
Each season we have a Saturday meeting with a visiting conductor from the national SRP. On Saturday 17 March 2012 from 2.30 to 7.30 p.m. this will be Pamela Flanagan, Musical Director of the Glasgow and Dublin branches. Pamela Flanagan will be available to coach one-to-a-part groups on the morning of her visit.

Accessibility. There is a wheelchair lift between the floors of the church building. If you require to use this, please give us advance notice, so that portable ramps are placed at the entrance and at internal steps. Disabled toilets are at both levels.

The Annual Scottish Recorder Festival will be in Aberdeen on Saturday the 26th of May 2012.

One-to-a-part playing is also encouraged.  One-to-a-part groups meet separately, usually in each others' homes. They are invited to perform to the branch, family and friends at the Christmas evening and Summer evening.

Music is normally provided for playing at meetings, and can only be borrowed if signed for in the book. There is a large amount of music suitable for borrowing by individuals and small groups. Enquiries should be addressed to the Librarian.

Scottish Recorder Orchestra. This orchestra affiliated to the SRP rehearses monthly in Stirling and gives public performances. It also has residential weekends and collaborates with the Dortmund Recorder Consort.
